Comedy Republic is a unique theatre and bar in the heart of Melbourne, where you can see the best live comedy all year round.

Owned and run by comedians, Kyran and Rhys Nicholson and Alex Dyson, Comedy Republic presents some of the biggest names on the scene alongside the brightest breaking talent. Since opening in 2020, they have welcomed over 300 artists to the stage, from homegrown favourites like Celia Pacquola, Tommy Little and Denise Scott to international heavyweights like Daniel Sloss, Matteo Lane and Danny Bhoy. Their stage is home to stand-up, sketch, improv, live podcasts, plays, storytelling and much more.

Comedy Republic's bar is the perfect spot to have a drink - whether you have a ticket or not. Meet here before seeing a show with friends, drop in after work, or take respite from the noisy city below. The bar champions local breweries and distilleries, with a bespoke range of beer, wine and spirits; plus there's a dedicated non-alcoholic menu.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
