Bank Street House: Prior Barraclough

  • Talk
  • Design

Come along to Walsh Street for a talk exploring Bank Street House with Michael Barraclough and Dennis Prior of Prior Barraclough. This residence is a compact family home in Northcote shaped by a desire to give more space back to garden, landscape and outdoor family life. Replacing a large two-storey dwelling with a smaller single-storey footprint, the project opens the site to a more generous relationship with planting, sunlight and the shared life of the cul-de-sac. A large habitable green roof further extends this landscape, allowing the house to read as part of the garden itself.

Bank Street House has been shortlisted for the 2026 Victorian Architecture Awards in the Residential Architecture – Houses (New) category.
