A Moment to Mend with the Social Studio

  • Free
  • Workshop

As part of Melbourne Fashion Week, 1 Hotel Melbourne invites guests to join The Social Studio in Crane Bar and Lounge for an afternoon centred on craft, conversation, and conscious creativity. Set against the easy rhythm of the space, The Social Studio team will be on hand with a sewing machine to assist with simple repairs, thoughtful patch-ups, and ideas for reimagining pieces guests already own.

More than a mending session, this is an opportunity to connect with the makers behind Melbourne’s creative community and learn more about the care, skill and stories woven into what we wear. Whether bringing along a piece in need of new life or simply stopping by to chat, guests are invited to slow down, share in the process, and discover the value of building something back together.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
