Opening Runway: ganbu marra
In Woi Wurrung, ganbu marra means 'one mob', a concept unifying this spectacular collection styled by proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander model and M/FW First Nations Creative Director Lindyn Rowland.
Featuring Atyene Clothing, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, Ebony Noire, Kaninda, Lillardia Briggs-Houston, Marnin Studio, OUT OF HAND x Lisa Waup, Rowland Vision, Saretta The Label, Van Ermel Scherer and Yapa Mali.
Held in the grandeur of the NGV’s Gandel Hall, the runway explores a world of high contrast, of raw street realism and unfiltered storytelling, where the concrete meets the divine, and sovereign luxury clashes with urban survival.
With striking silhouettes and unapologetic self-expression, this is a celebration of cultural pride and contemporary fashion that shapes Melbourne / Narrm of today.
Following the show, celebrate First Nations creativity and the opening of Melbourne Fashion Week with beverages and canapes on the runway.
