The Body Shop

The Body Shop is the original ethical beauty brand. It was founded in 1976 in Brighton, England, by Dame Anita Roddick, who pioneered the brand to sell naturally-inspired beauty products with a unique point of view; a rejection of traditional beauty ideals, and a foundational belief that business can be a force for good.

This ethos is still the brand’s driving force. Seeking to make a positive difference in the world by offering cruelty-free products for men and women, including makeup, skincare, haircare, fragrances and gifts, packed with raw, natural, and powerful ingredients that are produced ethically and sustainably.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
