This tapas and wine bar is just around the corner from its older sibling, the original MoVida. With a small menu designed for grazing and sipping, the space is casual and relaxed.
The bites offered include mushroom and blue cheese croquette, anchovy with smoked cheese, chargrilled prawn, jamon and marinated olives. There are also a couple of bigger dishes, such as pork and pepper Catalan sausage with fabada beans, saffron braised chicken Maryland, and wet rice with seafood and saffron, with churros and baked custard to finish.
A healthy wine list complements the snacks, including whites, reds, beer, sherry, sangria and cocktails.
Order a glass of chilled sherry and you could imagine you’re on the Atlantic cost of Andalusia. But you’re not, you’re in Melbourne, in a little bar looking out onto the icons of Melbourne: the MCG; Federation Square and the graffiti of Hosier Lane.
