Mitre Tavern
Historic Mitre Tavern is an English-style pub in the oldest building in Melbourne, located in the heritage surrounds of Bank Place.
Operating since 1868, the tavern has a huge selection of beers on tap and boasts the largest beer garden in the city.
The bistro serves a selection of burgers and pub classics or head upstairs to the steakhouse for some of the finest chargrilled steaks in Melbourne.
The two-storey tavern, now dwarfed by modern developments, is listed on both the Victorian Heritage Register and also by the National Trust of Australia.
