Mail Exchange Hotel

  • Heritage listed
  • Bar

The Mail Exchange Hotel is a bistro and pub housed within the heritage-listed former Mail Exchange building. Meticulously restored, the pub has an atrium with an internal courtyard and a bistro with capacity for 200 offering lunch and dinner daily, and breakfast on the weekends.

There's also a sports bar showing live sports on the big screens and a lounge area with Tuesday trivia nights and live music over the summer period.

Located a stone's throw away from Southern Cross Station and with a tram stop just opposite, the Mail Exchange Hotel is conveniently placed for a morning coffee on the way to the office, a cold beer before heading home, or a pre- or post-event meal and drinks for the footy or concerts at Marvel Stadium across the road.

Check their website for bistro hours.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
