Higher Ground

  • Cafe

Located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, Higher Ground innovates with top-quality food, service and design.

A soaring 15-metre-high ceiling defines the space, with impressively large cathedral windows flooding the cafe with natural light. Six connected levels wrap around the perimeter of the original brick building to create a suite of intimate tiered platforms – perfect for catching up with friends while overlooking the bustle below.

An evocative and highly curated menu offers the very best that Melbourne has to offer. Guests can expect to start their day with brunch classics like the Chilli Scrambled Eggs or the Avocado Pretzel – an elevated rendition of the iconic avocado toast. End the meal on a sweet note with the signature Blueberry and Ricotta Hotcakes – light, fluffy and adored by locals for good reason.

On the corner of Little Bourke and Spencer Streets, this former power station is the perfect spot to rest and recoup after your next inner-city adventure.
