Black Kite Commune

  • Bar
  • Casual dining

From the team behind Melbourne icons Gin Palace, Bar Ampere and bijou bottle store, and inspired by the supper clubs of Melbourne’s early 1900s, Black Kite Commune is a moody beacon for those who enjoy the nightlife.

The cocktail list moves beyond the seasonality trend and into a more conceptual approach, though always honouring timeless classics. Boasting hundreds of Australian light and dark spirits with several rare bottlings for the discerning drinker, Black Kite Commune has one of the largest selections of Australian whisky in Melbourne.

Bar, window, banquette and leafy outdoor terrace seats are available. If you prefer a more private experience, peruse the refined champagne list from your booth upstairs – and simply press a gold button for service.

While liquids are the true heroes, the bar food is their perfect accompaniment – sample rare Australian delicacies like emu, wallaby and crocodile. The full menu is menu is available until closing time.
