Akaiito is a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Flinders Lane. Premium globally-sourced and local ingredients are combined and grilled on a large, authentic Robatayaki grill, which uses imported Japanese coals.

A seasonal set degustation menu combines a variety of fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables. There's also a range of hot and cold dishes from the grill and sushi counter. The menu is frequently refreshed to include the best seasonal produce, so no two visits are ever the same.

The main showcase is the Robatayaki grill, accompanied by an open sushi show kitchen, where you can order quality sashimi and nigiri.

Hidden on the basement level is the speakeasy Underground Bar and Eatery. The bar is open for casual a la carte dining and Japanese-inspired drinks.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection the Wurundjeri, Bunurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wadawurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin have to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We are committed to our reconciliation journey, because at its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, for the benefit of all Victorians.
