Tough Guy Bookish Club

An imaginative novel about legacy, community and reinvention, Jock Serong’s Cherrywood is a modern classic of Australian literature – and the focus of this latest, special edition of Bookish Club.

At Bakery Hill Distillery in Kensington, Tough Guy Book Club founder Shay Leighton joins host Tim Byrne to unpack this wonderfully offbeat novel of a mysterious pub that refuses to stay put and a cast of characters you won’t soon forget. Part ghost story, part deeply human tale of dreamers, schemers and the past’s proximity to the present, Cherrywood is ripe for debate and discussion.

Settle in over a whisky (or a beer), share your thoughts on the book and relish in an afternoon that puts spirited conversation about books back on the table.

Strictly for audiences 18 and older. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
