The Guildford Files is a 90-minute guided walking tour that explores the laneways and backstreets behind Bourke Street, where old warehouses, service lanes and quiet corners reveal how the city has reinvented itself over time.
Created in partnership with Seniors in Melbourne, this relaxed small-group walking tour is ideal for retirees, or anyone who wants to explore the city at an easy pace, taking a wander through the streets and laneways that reveal Melbourne’s past.
Limited to a maximum group number of 10, the tours are led by Paul Daffey, a lifelong Melburnian, journalist and storyteller. His love of local history comes through in every step – whether he’s recounting tales from a century-old pub or pointing out a detail most people miss, Paul brings Melbourne’s characters, quirks and hidden corners to life.
