Move For Them

  • Free
  • Fitness

This community event brings people together to raise awareness of domestic, family, and sexual violence and to honour the women whose lives have been lost to gender-based violence.

Together you'll take part in a walk or run around the Tan (1, 2 or 4km), a powerful act of solidarity and resilience. The day also features vibrant market and food stalls showcasing local businesses and organisations, free activities such as yoga and self-defence to support healing and wellbeing, and inspiring talks from community advocates and speakers.

This is more than a gathering — it is a movement of healing and action. By moving together, sharing stories, and connecting as a community, the group stands united against gender-based violence and affirms a commitment to building safer futures.

The pay-as-you-wish format ensures accessibility for all.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
