Matthew Simpson: Serendipitous Painting

Presenting Melbourne-based artist Matthew Simpson’s high impact abstract oil paintings and a graphic animation installation, in his fifth solo exhibition at the gallery.

Chance and intuition play a prominent role in their creation as the paintings evolve over time, slowly building up layers of lines. The works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way.
