Glimpses of Heaven is a darkly comic solo theatre work about growing up around fame and addiction, written and performed by Mparntwe/Alice Springs artist Mary-Agnes O’Loughlin.
As Hannah packs up her mother’s apartment, photographs, music and objects transport her back through her childhood – bringing moments of humour, chaos, tenderness and absurdity to life.
At its heart, Glimpses of Heaven is the story of a brilliant but troubled musician and her daughter, exploring a love that survives the ugliness of addiction while recognising that a person is not defined by their disease. With music and movement woven throughout, the work is playful, funny and deeply personal, finding flashes of joy even in life’s darkest chapters.
