The open day's program include performances by Forró and MPB bands (popular Brazilian music genres), with typical food and recreational activities on offer for all ages.

This new facility will feature community service rooms, offering support for mental health, legal advice, and consular matters in the Portuguese-language. It will also house a small community library with works by Brazilian and Australian authors, and a small auditorium designated for showcasing art exhibitions, films, and other cultural expressions from Brazil.

Future plans include providing yoga, Brazilian dance, and Portuguese language classes for residents of Kensington and neighbouring areas as well.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
