Asian Cinema Collective: A Useful Ghost (2025)
Join the Asian Cinema Collective for a screening of A Useful Ghost (2025)
When Nat, beloved wife of March, passes away due to respiratory disease, she comes back. Not as a vision, or a voice – but as a ghost inside a vacuum cleaner, rekindling her relationship with her grieving husband.
Her mother-in-law and relatives are horrified at the dimensionally crossed lovers. So when an opportunity appears for Nat to help the family expel some 'useless' ghosts causing trouble at the family's factory, she jumps at the chance.
What follows is a journey of love and loss from writer-director Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, in a debut feature that won the top prize at Cannes Critics' Week 2025 and was one of our favourites at Melbourne International Film Festival last year.
