Zeal

  • Theatre
  • Entertainment

Zeal is a visceral exemplar of the chaos that comes with pursuing a life in the creative arts. It epitomises the intoxication of bringing something to life from the heart, the ways it consumes every facet of your life, and the superiority complex that comes with refusing to live an ordinary existence.

It explores the cruel realities of the creative industries that beckon for relentless sacrifice and requires a level of delusion in order to refuel any dwindling ambitions. To fight against a world that dismisses art’s necessity, to clamber your way past every egomaniac hiding in the wings, to convince your auntie that being an artist is a real job and then to top it off actually create something meaningful enough to satiate the soul, requires art to become an obsession.

Brought to life by the raw, stylised visual language Running With Scissors Theatre have become known for, Zeal embraces the beauty and torture that comes with the innate need to create.
