The Pandas of the Adelaide Zoo
Wang Wang and Fu Ni are the pride of Adelaide Zoo — rare, beloved, and under enormous pressure to conceive Australia's first baby panda. There’s just one catch.
They can’t stand each other.
The Pandas of the Adelaide Zoo is a warm, absurd, and new Australian play, written by Ryan Smith, about love on demand, awkward relationships, and captivity. Watched on by Ranger Hayley and Keeper Trev, Wang Wang and Fu Ni are left to figure out whether romance can be forced, or if some things just aren’t meant to be.
An almost true story, The Pandas of Adelaide Zoo is based on the real pandas of the Adelaide Zoo Wang Wang and Fu Ni, residents of Australia Zoo from 2009-2024.
Starring Elizabeth Harvey, Ryan Smith, Charli Lewis, and Jake McNamara, this heartfelt comedy is filled with big laughs, unexpected tenderness, and yes, Twisties.
Funny, moving, and impossible not to love.
