The Art of Presence: A Beginner’s Henna Workshop

  • Free
  • Family and kids

In this workshop you'll learn the basic techniques of henna application using guided practice worksheets. Once confident, you'll use those skills to recreate a design of your choice or create your own.

Participants are encouraged to apply henna to their own skin in the final stage of the session. You'll also learn essential aftercare tips to preserve your henna design for as long as possible.

Whether you're a beginner or exploring a new art form, you'll leave with a beautiful, fresh henna stain and a meaningful new skill set to continue practicing with confidence and creativity.

No experience is required, and all materials will be supplied.

There are two sessions for this workshop, one for participants aged12 to 15, and another for ages 16 to 25. Please check your age matches the session before booking.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
