Drawing on SIGNAL

  • Free
  • Family and kids

Lines, forks, branches, and tape—this workshop invites you to help create a bold, shared drawing that unfolds across floors, walls, windows, and pavements. Using colourful tape, you’ll work together to build an abstract, site-specific artwork that starts inside the SIGNAL building and expands outward, line by line.

Led by visual artist Briony Barr, the session explores spatial drawing and relational art, where the artwork is shaped by the people taking part. You’ll follow a simple rule-based system using lines, forks, and branches, learning how structure, collaboration, and chance can generate complex and unexpected outcomes.

Briony’s practice focuses on collaboration, systems thinking, and large-scale participatory works, and she’ll guide the group through a process where everyone’s decisions influence the final form.

No prior drawing experience required and all materials will be provided.

Strictly for ages 14 to 25 years; please ensure you are within this age range.
