Social Networks is a newly developed eight-channel moving image and sound installation by Lina Buck.

The work examines language's adaptability, diversity, and ability in shaping our approach to social and physical environments. Through language, we engage with the world around us, igniting and supporting connections to family, culture, and site. In spoken word, sign and song, each participant reflects on their experience of how language functions and continues to unfold within their context.

Participants include Luke King, Isabel Trufas, Alexander Jordania, Pranav Walimbe, Anni Hagberg, Jing Liang, Mariana Carolina and Lina Buck.

Opening event 4 July, 2pm to 4pm.

Supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and the City of Melbourne Arts Grants.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
