Julie Davidson: Symphony of Light

  • Free
  • Art

In her solo exhibition Symphony of Light, Julie Davidson continues her refined exploration of still life painting, bringing domestic forms together in compositions of quiet intensity. Guided by a deep sensitivity to colour, light and form, and by an enduring interest in the meditative potential of art, her paintings transform ordinary arrangements into luminous reflections on attention, transience and beauty.

Combining the devotional stillness of Western still life with a graceful, almost zen-like restraint, Davidson’s practice invites a slower, more attentive mode of looking. Within these intimate scenes, modest objects are lifted beyond their everyday function and offered as subjects of contemplation. What emerges is not simply a record of things seen, but a quiet act of reverence: an insistence on the extraordinary presence of the seemingly mundane.
