  • Tour
  • Exhibition

Step aboard the legendary flagship of Whale Wars — the MV Steve Irwin — and experience ocean activism up close. Learn how this historically registered 'eco battleship' saved over 6000 whales and helped end illegal whaling in Antarctica.

Settle into the ship’s cosy mess (crew lounge) as you watch two powerful episodes of Whale Wars, featuring 'The Steve' in action on the high seas. Feel the intensity, courage, and purpose that made this vessel iconic.

Enjoy popcorn and refreshments as you immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience, not in a theatre, but aboard the very ship itself. Sundays offer woodfired pizza and live music.

This is a rare chance to connect with history, adventure, and the fight to protect our oceans.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
