Melbourne August Cause Club

  • Free
  • Activity

Join the August Cause Club for a crafty afternoon of zine making and showing up in purple to celebrate Wear It Purple Day in support of Minus18.

Everyone is encouraged to wear purple and join in making zines in celebration of Wear It Purple's theme, Colours of Courage.

Every Cause Club city will create their own zine pages, which will be combined into a national digital zine celebrating the queer community. It’ll become a free resource for LGBTQIA+ young people, reminding them they’re seen, valued, and never alone.

Please wear something purple if you can, and bring a magazine that can be used to make your zine - if you want to bring in any photos of queer icons, even better.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
