Run Like A Pirate

  • Free
  • Festival

City Hash House Harriers' third annual Run Like A Pirate is shaping up to be Melbourne's most entertaining fun run. Pirate attire is encouraged, and pirates in full costume run free. Bring your tricorn hat, cutlass, Jolly Roger, parrot, and your best pirate jokes.

Held each year on the Thursday before International Talk Like a Pirate Day, this relaxed 5-8 km social run winds through Melbourne's streets and laneways at an easy, non-competitive pace. Expect plenty of laughs as bewildered diners and passers-by watch a crew of pirates jogging through the city.

Never heard of the Hash House Harriers? Perfect. This is one of the best nights of the year to come and see what they're all about.

After the run, drop anchor at The Boatbuilders Yard for a well-earned beer (or perhaps a tot of rum) and plenty of pirate stories. Arrr!

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
