Throughout art history the image of the skull has often served as a reminder of life’s impermanence – the memento mori.
Oleh Witer in his anticipated first exhibition at the gallery combines three elements in his paintings to present a visual statement about the relationship between the ephemeral, the eternal and the restrictive.
Joelle Mayberry's recent sculpture works, forged during down time in her day job at Fundere foundry were made first using wax, fabric, string and natural materials like twigs and dry seaweed. She then translated these spontaneous pieces via a laborious process into the most durable of media, bronze.
All visitors are welcomed to the opening with both artists on Saturday 6 June from 3pm-5pm.
