In this series of photographs taken in Japan, James Bryans chose to bypass the chaos inherent in big cities, instead observing and experiencing the beauty of fleeting things and the changes of light and atmosphere around those things which are more permanent.
James Bryans has been exhibiting since the mid-nineties, presenting work in national and international institutions such as Stills Gallery, NSW, the National Portrait Gallery, UK, Centre for Contemporary Photography, fortyfivedownstairs, Linden Gallery, and Green Floor Gallery, VIC, the Melbourne Immigration Museum, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne.
