I Ain't No Fancy Bird: Maya Tamang

  • Free
  • Art

Maya Tamang's I Ain't No Fancy Bird is the culmination of her recent studio practice, an exhibition which focuses on deeply felt portraits of personal inspirations, influences and themes that are important to Maya. Drawing its title from the wise-cracking and snappy scripts of classic Hollywood film, Maya's paintings channel the boldness, expressiveness and exuberance of that era, whose characteristics are similarly personified by her chosen sitters.

This exciting new exhibition demonstrates the commitment, development and significant accomplishment of an artist in Jump Left’s Studio Program. I Ain't No Fancy Bird coincides with Open House Melbourne at Donkey Wheel House the 24th, 25th and 26th of July, an open invitation to connect with the businesses that give back to the community.

Celebrate the opening of Maya Tamang’s solo exhibition I Ain’t No Fancy Bird July 24th 6-8pm at Jump Left. Light food and beverages provided.

This exhibition is supported by Donkey Wheel House.
