Emerging Writers' Festival

  • Free
  • Festival

The Emerging Writers' Festival is back over nine days, bursting with unique workshops for aspiring writers, performances of new, local literature, and vital conversations on Australia's publishing industry.

The festival is a sanctuary for writers to spend quality time with their work and with other creatives. With over 70 events across the city of Melbourne and outer regions, you'll find panels, workshops, exhibitions, performances, events and other projects that don't quite fit into those labels. Dive into the program and start your writing journey.

The festival is supported by the City of Melbourne Arts Grants, Creative Victoria and Creative Australia.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
