Dreamer in the Deep

When his bed turns into a sailing boat, Dreamer, an adorable half-child/animal, finds himself adrift in the Australian waters. Guided by a magical seahorse, he must travel from seaweed forests to the oceans' depths and to the Great Barrier Reef where a greedy lion fish has imprisoned a leafy sea-dragon.

Many exotic, funny and dangerous sea creatures cross their paths. We even meet an accordion-playing crab and an opera-singing cleaning shrimp.

Through the spectacular use of innovative blacklight, originally-composed music and visual artistry, the oceans come to life in all their beauty and diversity to inspire our imaginations.

The Melbourne Festival of Puppetry shows at La Mama have staggered start times so you can enjoy more than one show in a day, and hang out at La Mama HQ in between with free snacks and juice for the kids and coffee for the bigger kids.
