Inspired by the imaginative world of René Magritte, Cut & Composed is the third iteration of West End Art Space's annual collage exhibition.
This year's exhibition brings together a diverse group of 36 artists whose practices explore surreal logic, symbolic tension, and the subtle destabilisation of the familiar through the language of collage.
Cutting, layering, assembling, and re-framing sit at the heart of the exhibition, where fragments of imagery, memory, and meaning are transformed into new visual and conceptual narratives. Moving between the recognisable and the unexpected, the works invite viewers to reconsider everyday objects, spaces, and symbols, revealing alternative realities that exist just beneath the surface.
Through playful juxtapositions, poetic associations, and moments of quiet disruption, Cut and Composed celebrates collage as a medium uniquely suited to questioning perception and reimagining the world around us.
