Converge

  • Nightlife

Converge. Enter the field. A shifting landscape of light and sound.

A one night premier immersive light and surround sound installation where time-coded lighting and a synchronised custom score transform an industrial space into a shifting landscape of motion, rhythm and atmosphere. Step inside a darkened space as kinetic lighting and a cinematic industrial soundscape create an evolving atmosphere of electromagnetic hums, reverberated scrap metal, analogue synth bass and rich textural layers.

Everything converges. Beam to beam, light and sound, space and body. The experience encourages free movement through the space as the installation builds, peaks and slowly dissolves around you.

Limited to four timed sessions through out the night. Session four is an extended session including a closing party with Live Sets from Jake Steele as Tobacco Rat, plus special guest Vijay Thillaimuthu. Where Converge ends, music and movement take over.

This experience is an 18+ event.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
