Commedia dell'Arte: Contemporary Practitioners

  • Free
  • Theatre

Join for an evening exploring the enduring legacy and contemporary evolution of one of theatre’s most vital performance traditions. Fabio Motta, co-editor of 'Commedia dell'Arte: Contemporary Practitioners', draws on more than 20 in-depth interviews with leading international artists to trace how the centuries-old form of Commedia dell'Arte continues to reinvent itself across cultures, artistic practices, and contemporary performance contexts.

The evening also includes a Q&A, and moments of live demonstration and improvisation, illuminating core principles such as mask work. Designed for performers, students, educators, and researchers, but the event is open to all.

Fabio Motta is a multi-award-winning performer, director, and teaching artist working across Australia, Europe and the United States. His work spans theatre, film, and actor training.
