The iconic Lion and Dragon Dance Moon Festival returns to the heart of Melbourne's Chinatown.
This year sees an expanded program featuring a Lion and Dragon Dance parade, Lion and Dragon Dance performances, a special Guzheng performance by Qiqi, martial arts and kung fu, and the family-friendly lantern parade down Chinatown.
Organised by the Chinese Masonic Society (CMS) in conjunction with the Melbourne Chinatown Business Association (MCBA), this event showcases the best of Chinese and Asian culture in the heart of the city!
Completely free and family-friendly. Bring your kids and their lanterns, and join in the festivities and the fun parade with the lions! Kids can get up close and personal with the Chinese Lion Dance costumes, and even take some photos with the kids lion heads.
Parades at 5:30pm and 7:30pm on Chinatown. Main performances starting 6pm at Chinatown Place (Cohen Place).
