Afloat in Melbourne in the Yarra River with a late afternoon glow through trees.

Afloat Melbourne

  • Bar
  • Restaurant

Afloat is a seasonal floating restaurant and bar located on the North Bank of the Yarra River (Birrarung) in the heart of Melbourne’s city centre.

An ever-evolving hospitality venture, the venue comes to life annually between September and June. With each season’s reopening, the venue undergoes a complete refit, unveiling a brand new, exotic and summer-loving theme annually.

The 2025-2026 season embraces all the rhythm, flavour and colour of Brazil's marvellous seaside city of Rio de Janeiro, with caipirinhas, salty beach snacks and samba-shaking fun in tow.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
