Roslyn Thai Cafe

A new sun-soaked Thai cafe has sprouted in West Melbourne. Visit this sweet spot for traditional brunches on the large deck. The congee comes served hot with egg and pork balls. For dessert, there's mango sorbet with sweet sticky rice. But the real show stopper is the stunning range of cakes. Think strawberry shortcake, and chiffon cakes in every flavour from black sesame to mandarin.

Rongcha

Word on the street is this Thai dessert spot serves the best burnt butter toast in Melbourne. Wander over to Rongcha at 18 Little Lonsdale Street and carb-load on thick slices of bread loaded with toppings like ube cream, caramel and biscoff crumbs. Or try yao wa rat – fluffy buns filled with pandan, kaya, chilli pork floss and more.

Yummybear

Another new Thai dessert shop you need to visit is Yummy Bear Bakery. We're talking layered crepe cakes, milk tea flavoured treats and loaded ube toast. Don't leave without trying the Insta-famous pandan teddy bear swiss rolls - which come complete with little chocolate button eyes! So adorable you won't want to eat them. Almost.

Snow Moon

We often describe things as hidden, but Snow Moon is seriously hidden. Like, walk down a never-ending tunnel off a laneway and stop dead in the centre levels of hidden. But for these delicious Thai-inspired shaved ice desserts, it's definitely worth the journey. Classic milk tea and Oreo flavours are on the menu. Along with pandan-soaked toastie sticks, Yakult jelly creations and Lotus Biscoff waffles. They stay open until 10pm, Monday to Saturday!
