Test Garden Open Day: Birds in the Big City

  • Free
  • Family and kids

In these 20-minute small-group workshops led by urban ecologist Dr Jacinta Humphrey, participants will learn about local bird species, the types of habitats and resources that birds need to live in cities and explore design ideas to better support native birds.

Get inspired and learn about how we can incorporate food, water, habitat and nesting resources into urban design.

Peckable Architecture, an installation by artist Bethany Kiss, will be installed in the Test Garden during this workshop. Peckable Architecture is made of biodegradable composite bricks designed for birds to peck apart and collect nesting materials.

This free event is family-friendly, and is held outdoors in the Test Garden at Fed Square. Please bring a hat and water bottle.
