Steamboat Whistlers

  • Free
  • Music

The Steamboat Whistlers are inspired by century-old musical impressions and sounds emanating from New Orleans, which evolved and travelled up the Mississippi and all around the globe. Playing numerous hits and misses from long ago, with the occasional original or tune, the band draws on a wide range of musical influences including traditional jazz, depression-era blues, ragtime, folk and spirituals.

The Steamboat Whistlers bring a fun and energetic take on recreating the sounds of old, with vintage instrumentation usually including relics such as washboard, banjo and sousaphone.

This is music that will get your toes tapping and maybe up on your feet dancing too.
