Love at First Meow

  • Free
  • Family and kids

Join for a fun-filled community day celebrating the opening of Lort Smith’s new cat adoption centre.

Come along to meet some of the cats looking for their forever homes, enjoy some family-friendly activities and learn more about how you can help give a pet a second chance.

Enjoy a sausage sizzle, have a cuddle with the pet therapy dogs, bring along a soft toy for a fun pretend vet check with their volunteers, plus colouring-in and face painting for kids.

And if you're thinking about adding a feline friend to your family then meet the cats waiting for their new beginning. The adoption fee includes fully vaccinated, desexed, vet-checked cats.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
