Live at Toorak: Satu Vänskä Trio – The Boundless Heart

  • Music
  • Entertainment

Behind the doors of Toorak Synagogue, a spectacular dome glows above an evening of music and a few love affairs worth listening in on.

Settle in as Satu Vänskä, Elina Faskhi and Konstantin Shamray bring The Boundless Heart to life. The ACO violinist, MSO cellist and one of Australia’s most beloved concert pianists meet in music with plenty beneath its respectable exterior.

Haydn was married when he fell for the London widow to whom he dedicated the set containing his 'Gypsy' Trio. Shostakovich was 16 when he met Tatyana and began his First Piano Trio. Ravel’s ravishing Trio adds shimmering colours and sweeping passion.

David Griffiths hosts and joins the artists on clarinet for a little klezmer.
