Book Doof

  • Free
  • Activity

Book Doof – Melbourne's favourite reading party – is returning to Section 8 for an afternoon of quiet reading, ambient playlists and daytime drinking.

After the huge success of Section 8's first collaboration with Book Doof in August, Section 8 is bringing Melbourne's reading community back to the carpark for round 2, but this time they're partnering up with their sister bar next door, Aster, for a two venue takeover.

Book Doof is a collective reading experience – a paradise for those wanting to disconnect from social media for a bit, meet new friends and form a community through reading. Set to an ambient playlist, there’s zero pressure to read if you don’t want to. Punters can draw, journal or paint, as long as you’re not interfering with anyone else’s experience.

This event is walk-ins only and operates on a 'pay as you feel' policy. Donations will be asked for at the door.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
