American Doughnut Kitchen

  • Takeaway

Some memories live in your hands before they reach your mind. The warmth of a paper bag. The springiness of fresh, hot dough and the taste that takes you back to your childhood.

Since 1950, American Doughnut Kitchen has been part of Melbourne's living memory – three generations of the same family, the same recipe, the same belief that something made by hand and made well never goes out of style.

For 75 years, ADK has been frying hot jam doughnuts at Queen Victoria Market. That's longer than some of the city's landmarks have existed. Generations of Melburnians have grown up here: dragged along as kids, returning as teenagers on dates, bringing their own children back decades later. That's not nostalgia – that's belonging.

Find ADK at their original home in Queen Victoria Market, where the smell finds you before the van does. Come for the taste experience, leave with memories.
