Walking Tour: Stories of South Yarra

  • Walking tour
  • Events

Take a guided walking tour through South Yarra exploring its rich architectural landscape and social history.

Led by experts from the Robin Boyd Foundation, this tour delves into the suburb’s diverse built heritage, covering 19th- and early-20th-century residential, commercial, industrial and community developments through to post-war Modernism.

Explore a precinct bounded by Park and Millswyn streets that include architectural excellence, heritage-listed buildings, and the stories behind them. As you walk, you’ll uncover South Yarra’s layered history, its evolving streetscapes, and the character that makes this one of Melbourne’s most iconic suburbs.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
