Princes Park

  • Park

Princes Park is a major sports and recreation ground offering a diverse range of activities in Carlton North. The Carlton Football Club, Carlton Cricket Club, Carlton Bowls Club and many other clubs make use of the beautiful public space.

Other features include the Carlton Recreation Ground's football stadium (Ikon Park), a children's playground, the ‘Within Three Worlds’ sculpture, and barbecue and picnic facilities.

Lovely walking paths can be found along avenues of elm and Moreton Bay fig trees, and views from the southern part of the park take in the city skyline, and the Melbourne General Cemetery.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
