Emily Dober: My World

  • Free
  • Art

Emily Dober makes drawings and paintings on paper that speak to her imagination, hence the title of her upcoming solo exhibition, My World.

Emily has had several solo exhibitions and this exhibition features a selection of work from these exhibitions as well as new work.

Emily's core theme across these shows has been dance, femininity, fashion, movie characters, singers and make believe. Her work has been sourced from popular culture: musicals she has watched repeatedly, catalogues to ballet productions she has seen, as well as book and advertising images.

Gouache is a favoured medium, which Emily applies with directness and bravado. Other media include textas and coloured pencils.

Emily is represented by Arts Project Australia.
