What Distance Means: Poetry by Edward Caruso

  • Free
  • Talk

Come along to the launch of What Distance Means, Edward Caruso’s third book of poetry.

This collection contains impressionistic and evocative descriptions that bring to life people and places encountered during the poet’s journeys to Italy. The language of What Distance Means – moods, colours and landscapes – transports readers to places that link ‘Etruscan necropolises to the fragrances of wild mint because these are images to keep’.

Caruso is based in Naarm and has worked as a book editor for over 30 years. He has published on the website, ReportER, run within the regional government of Emilia-Romagna. Fluent in Italian and Spanish (and in his mother’s Parmesan dialect), Edward’s love of language, whether in his writings or work, is central to this collection.

Caruso will be introduced by academic and poet, Chris Ringrose, Research Associate Professor at Monash University.
