Blak & Bright Presents Blak Ink: No Apologies

  • Free
  • Talk

Join two of the most electrifying voices in Blak theatre, Kamarra Bell-Wykes and Carly Sheppard for an evening that dives into the cultural, historical and political forces that shape our world. This is a celebration of Blak creativity and activism, tackling colonialism's lingering impact while offering a radical vision for healing and reclamation.

In a world crowded with voices, staying true to yours is radical. This is where fearless expression meets creative power. This is where writing without fear becomes an act of defiance. What happens when truth is spoken, with no filter and no compromise? What world can be built when no one has to apologise for their voice?

Expect a night of storytelling that will inspire, provoke and ignite.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
