Melanie Charles and WhoAllGonBeThere

  • Festival
  • Entertainment

Melanie Charles – Brooklyn-born vocalist, flautist, composer, and activist – fuses jazz, soul, experimental sounds and Haitian roots with a fierce commitment to social justice. Lauded by The New York Times and NPR, she's collaborated with Gorillaz, The Roots, and Wynton Marsalis. For this festival exclusive, Charles is joined by IGNABU and Paul Wilson Bae, creating a sacred space where jazz ancestry, radical innovation and activism converge.

Closing out the night is WhoAllGonBeThere – a collective featuring some of the most innovative minds in jazz, hip hop and R&B. Led by saxophonist-producer Marcus Strickland, the group includes bassist-vocalist Ben Williams, keyboardist Chad Selph, lyricist JSWISS and drummer Jharis Yokley. Together, they deliver freestyle fire and thunderous beats, unleashing the raw, soulful spirit of hip hop and jazz.
